New Cinema Openings Set For 2022

All is looking rosy in Ireland’s cinema world with exhibitors investing in new locations around the country. During 2022 at least 4 new commercial cinemas are opening.

The first to open its new doors was Cineworld Belfast at the Odyssey beside SSE Arena within the Titanic Quarter. It comprises 13 state-of-the-art screens including an IMAX® auditorium, a multi-sensory 4DX extreme cinema experience and a 270-degree wrap-around screen.

Later this year, another new cinema will open in Belfast city centre when Omniplex launch at CastleCourt.

In Dublin, the 5th cinema in the Movies@ family opened recently. Movies@The Square is a new home for the brand and a fully refurbished setting with luxury seating, sofas and recliners as well as top quality laser projection and surround-sound. Their VIP auditorium goes one step further featuring 9.1 super surround-sound to further enhance the depth and dimension of the Dolby experience.

Not far down the road in Bray, the premium brand ‘Stella’ is opening a multi-cinema complex this quarter. Situated just off Bray main street the multi-screen cinema will be neighbours with eateries Elephant and Castle, Wowburger and concept cafes as part of a new Leisure and Lifestyle destination.

Be a part of this in 2022

People do love the sense of escape that the entire cinema experience provides and there is a clear hunger for the high-quality films making up the 2022 film slate.

When it comes to advertising, we like to think that there is no medium like the cinema screen. It has uninterrupted attention levels, 100% advert completion rates, and verifiable audience data.

Add in a happy mindset and powerful communal experience impacting positively on brand association, recall and a +30% halo effect.  (Source: Metrix Lab & Mesh Research)
